Action thriller "Double Hour", included in the program "Roman Holiday" of VOICES, was presented to Vologodians by Ksenia Rappoport, who starred in the film. Maybe because of her natural modesty or for some other reasons, before the film started Ksenia spoke about her colleagues, although her own performance in “Double Hour” is highly praised.
Sonia works as a maid in a hotel in Turin. She meets Guido - a former policeman, who is a security guard of a luxury country-house now. Guido has a habit of making a wish when the hands of a watch show the same figures. That’s what is called a "double hour". The meeting of Sonia and Guido gradually transforms into a love story - but no one realizes that their first kiss will be interrupted by a kick with a gun on Guido’s head. And then the story takes unexpected turns: there will be a few suicides, the revival of the dead and even the scene of burying one of the characters alive.
It should be noted that for her role in the "Double hour" Rappoport was awarded at the Venice Film Festival of 2009. Funny, but at that time nobody could have thought that an Italian film would get to Russia someday. However, Vologda audience was awarded with a privilege of watching the thriller yesterday. Everybody deservedly praised a truly exciting and sometimes even frightening film: there was deathly silence in the session hall throughout the show.
