“Matter of the Heart” (“Questione di cuore”) by Francesca Archibugi: Opening Сeremony of the VOICES Festival
The Opening Ceremony of the Festival was already over but there was still not a single vacant seat in “Lenkom” cinema. The first row was occupied by the jury and the guests of the Festival. Everyone was excited about watching a film by a talented Italian director Francesca Archibugi.
A tragic comedy “A Stroke of Luck” tells about the life of a successful scriptwriter Alberto and a young service man Anjelo (starring Kim Rossi Stuart and Antonio Albaneze), who end up in the same hospital as a result of heart attacks. The characters become close friends and keep in contact even after they are discharged from the hospital. Friendship that was born between these two people on the brink of life and death turns out to be the strongest in their entire lives.
In the film a serious tragedy is slowly developing, softened by slight notes of Italian humour and on a full scale disclosing the mentality of true Italians, who never give up. This film won't leave anybody cold: not once there was heard loud laughter in the cinema hall, although the climax was rather tragic and a lot of people from the audience were leaving “Lenkom” with tears in their eyes. However, the film ended rather positively, receiving a storm of applause as a reward.
